Is the new Pink Floyd album "The Endless River" a tribute to Richard Wright and Syd Barrett

What does the "The Endless River" mean to David Gilmour? Is it a tribute to Richard Wright ? Is it a tribute to Syd Barrett ?

Rumour has it, that the The Endless River, which is being released after 20 years of dead silence by this british band, is solely a tribute to Richard Wright and their old pal Syd Barrett.

The sad demise of Richard Wright, in 2008, may be the reason why we may be getting the rare section of the 20 year old recording sessions from The Division Bell. On 28 March 1994, this album was released and since then we got nothing from the band. Most of the fans had lost hopes for a new Pink Floyd album to ever come after that. But, Pink Floyd, critically David Gilmour, released the info on the internet that there'll be a new album around the corner of the year, particularly, in October. The song High Hopes on the The Division Bell, had mixed responses from the Pink Floyd fanatics, but this song maybe somehow linked to this new album's various songs, as the lyrics of this song end with chants "The Endless River". The Division Bell had been recorded alongside Richard, and this is surely a tribute to him.

Pink Floyd had written a dedicated album(see Wish you were here) as a tribute to their founding member, Syd Barrett, who apparently reached for the secret too soon and left the band midway, before Pink Floyd had become what they are today. There’s a huge debate on this, but we can leave that aside for some other day, cause the reality we shall never know; there’s a reason why we’re fans and not stars. David Gilmour, surely knows how to be grateful and that's the reason, he has always been an inspiration to so many budding musicians.

The list of the songs to be included in the album will be out shortly, and we’ll be able to deliver it to you. Stay tuned to this blog till then!
